Direct answer
Do not classify a cable assembly from its name or connector alone. Start with the product's function, whether connectors are fitted, rated voltage, conductor and insulation construction, relationship to the equipment, origin rules, destination, and the wording of the current tariff schedule.
Use the current tariff schedule, relevant rulings, and the complete product description. The importer or customs broker determines the code and applicable measures for the actual product, origin, destination, value, and shipment date.
Classification research inputs
Prepare a product description that can be checked against tariff wording and ruling history.

Landed cost inputs
A landed-cost comparison normally combines the assembly price with packing, inland transport, export handling, international freight, insurance, brokerage, duties and taxes confirmed for the shipment, destination charges, and delivery to the required location.
Also include NRE, tooling, validation, inventory carrying, inspection, rework, and change-response costs when they differ between sourcing options. Currency, freight, and tariff inputs should use a stated date and source instead of a fixed percentage copied into the RFQ.
Common gaps
Common gaps include using 8544 as a final answer, copying a code from a visually similar cable, omitting product function or voltage, assuming a fixed duty rate, and comparing unit price without consistent delivery terms.
Classification and origin are separate questions. A supplier's product description can support the review, but the importing party remains responsible for confirming the entry information used for its shipment.
RFQ and import follow-up
Send MTTJ the drawing, BOM, assembly function, connector details, voltage, quantity, packing, delivery destination, and requested trade documents. Send the same product description and transaction facts to the importer or licensed customs broker for classification and current landed-cost confirmation.
Build a classification fact pack
Give the trade professional facts, not a preferred code without supporting construction details.
